We Miss You

My Grandpa KC passed away one year ago, and we miss him very much. He was a HUGE Iowa Hawkeyes fan, so I am wearing this shirt today in memory of him. He gave it to me for Christmas before I was even born!
Go Hawkeyes!

Using Utensils!

Jackson has been experimenting with utensils lately. Last night, he ate ice cream with a spoon and tonight, he ate a whole bowl of applesauce!

Daddy's Coming Home...For Good!

As many of you know, we have been trying to move to Auburn since last September. Erik started a new job there as a sales rep with SYSCO Food Services. He lived with my brother, Scott, during the weekdays while I stayed home with Jackson in Atlanta. Erik would come home on the weekends, and I would work every Saturday. After 10 months of being apart and unsuccessfully trying to sell our house, we have decided to stay in Atlanta. Erik received a transfer to work for SYSCO Atlanta, and his new territory will not be too far from our house! We are happy about staying in Atlanta for many reasons, including:
1. We don't have to move again quite yet (yay!:))
2. We love our church
3. Friends
4. There are more job opportunities for me here
5. We have been praying about this decision for the past 10 months and have
realized that moving to Auburn just may not be God's plan for us.

There would have definitely been advantages in moving to Auburn, but we have have no regrets and are just happy to be finished with all of this and to be back together again!!

Daddy's Vacation

Daddy was on vacation last week, and we all had a lot of fun being together all week! We stayed in Atlanta for a few days and then we went down to Mobile for July 4th and Mommy's birthday (29th...she says it's the last one she'll be celebrating). There are pictures posted below of some of the fun we had. Mommy and Daddy also left me with Grandma and Pop overnight for the first time while they went to the beach. They had a good time but didn't come back with any pictures. But I heard Mommy got to see a few old friends from her college/beach days and Daddy got to play golf. I know they missed me a lot though!!

Daddy Caught a Fish!

Daddy bought me a fishing pole while we were in Mobile, but I think it was really for him. I never got to play with it, but Daddy caught a fish in Grandma and Pop's "lake"!

Being Outside

Jackson loves to be outside! The second he sees a door that goes outside, he is trying to open it and pointing to the door knob letting everyone know he wants it open! He can't get enough of being outside. Even if he's been playing for a long time, he is not a happy boy when you take him back inside. Since we live in a townhouse, he doesn't have much of a yard to play in. But he loved being able to explore Grandma and Pop's property and play with all the leaves, rocks, and dirt!

Mommy and Great Aunt Kathy's Birthday Party/ Aunt Lissa's Housewarming Party

Melissa moved into a new house and fixed it up, so we had a combination birthday/housewarming party while we were in Mobile. Her house is so adorable, and she was a great hostess! (She made those cakes, by the way..one for each of us. She was hoping to have two different flavors for variety, but when she asked us separately, we both said we wanted chocolate cake with chocolate icing! They were delicious..and I ate way too much!)

Erik drove Jackson on the golf cart all around Kathy and Bill's property (which is pretty big...it contains 4 houses, I believe..including Melissa's).

Jackson enjoyed my music-playing birthday card!

Jackson kept rolling around on the floor (trying to do a somersault). We all clapped for him each time. So then he would roll over and just start clapping for himself with us!

Jackson loved playing with Melissa's dog, Harley!

Fun in Atlanta

Braves Game

Uncle Scott got us all tickets to the Braves game last week! He's got connections...our seats were about 8 rows behind home plate! Jackson was very good during the game and loved looking around at all the people, lights (he is very intrigued by lights right now for some reason...even when they are off), and everything else there is to see at a baseball game. Erik carried him on his shoulders after the game on the way back to our car. Jackson was so tired he just rested his head on Erik's (last picture). It was so cute...I just had to take a picture!
We also went to the Georgia Aquarium last week. But we didn't know we were going to go when we left the house, so we didn't take the camera:( Jackson had a lot of fun seeing all the fish, especially the exhibits where he could stick his hands in the water! I would have gotten some great pictures...oh well.
