A girl who knows how to be cute...

Off to "Kate's School"

Kate started Mother's Day Out yesterday and had a great day. She was SO excited to be going to "Kate's school" and to be wearing a backpack just like her big brother!

(She's leaning over to put her face in the sun because we were trying to get her out of the shadows for a better picture.)

TERRIFIC TWOs, Here We Come!

Happy Birthday to the funniest, cutest, sweetest (at times), most strong-willed and independent little girl I know! Kate turned 2 on Saturday, and she had such an exciting birthday! Mimi, Pop, Uncle Scott, and Bronx all came in town to celebrate with her. We started with a party at a local toddler gym with some of Kate's neighborhood friends. She had a blast jumping around and playing with her friends! After presents, lunch and a nap, we all did Kate's favorite thing - went swimming! From there, we went out for a birthday dinner...and more ice cream! Here are some pictures from the day (except for the swimming part because no one had their cameras or phones...imagine that!).

Kate could bounce on this thing all day!

Great First Week!

Jackson had such a good first week of kindergarten, and we are so proud of him! He got all excellent and satisfactory marks in his class every day this week, so he got to pick something out of the treasure chest today. To celebrate his first week, we went to the park after school and took him to a restaurant of his choice (Chick-fil-A) for dinner and ice cream. He also did a great job every morning with the book we gave him by getting ready on his own, making his bed, and feeding Tug - all with a good attitude! We told him we had a surprise for him at the end of the week if he followed the instructions in the book every morning on his own. He has been asking for a skate board for months, so we finally bought him one. He was SO excited, and he's already learned a trick or two!

Jackson's First Day of Kindergarten!

Jackson had a great first day of school! He woke up excited and got out of the car with a big smile on his face when we dropped him off. We were so proud of him for being so brave! We were happy to find out a few days ago that he has two friends in his class that he's known since he was about 18 months old (they were all in preschool together). When we got home from school today, he even said he was ready to go to bed so he could wake up and go to kindergarten again!

So excited and ready to go!

Big boy! When did he grow up so fast?

Jackson got a new alarm clock to help him get up for school. We also gave him a book of instructions so he will know exactly what he needs to do to get ready for school each morning. He loved them both!

Kate had to jump in a picture too! All day she kept saying, "Buddy cool day" (translation: Buddy - what she calls Jackson- is at school today)!
