Watch Me Walk!!

Jackson learned how to stand up by himself last night (without using furniture or anything else to get up), and it was only a matter of minutes before he just started walking!! And he hasn't stopped since...he has been practicing all day!

Guess What I Can Do!

I walked 10 steps in a row tonight!!

I don't say any words yet (unless you count "dada," but since I say it all the time about everything, Mommy and Daddy aren't so sure I know what it means), but I can make sounds like a monkey, a cow, a horse, and a dog! And I can point to my ears and my belly!

For a while now, I have been able to climb a whole flight of stairs all by myself, and you should see me go- I'm pretty fast! I have four teeth now (well, 3 1/2 to be exact). I love to push my walker, stack my shapes and blocks and sometimes even my carrots, chase Tug's tail, and be thrown in the air by Daddy! And when I hear music, I sway back and forth to the beat!

12 Month Check-Up

Jackson had his 12 month check-up today. He is now 28 1/4 inches long and weighs 17 pounds (half a pound up from last month...he probably would have gained even more if it weren't for the ear infection he had a few weeks ago that significantly decreased his appetite). The doctor wants to see us again in a month for another weight check, but he says Jackson is doing well for now. Jackson's appetite has increased over the last couple of weeks. We hope that it continues and that he gains even more next month!

On a side note: Jackson is very close to walking! He stands up by himself and concentrates really hard on taking a step! He has taken a step or two on several occasions, but that's as far as he goes for now. We're looking forward to him walking and talking as he begins his second year of life.

Jackson's MRI

Jackson had a brain MRI done today. The doctor wanted to make sure he didn't have an abnormal amount of fluid on his brain that could be causing an increased head circumference, and he wanted to monitor the cysts that were found in his brain when I was pregnant. Erik and I were dreading the MRI, and it was definitely not a fun experience, but we did get good news. Jackson's brain is normal and the cysts are completely gone! So after having worried about this for a year and a half now, we are finally in the clear! We don't have to go back to the neurologist or do any more tests!

Snow Day!!

Daddy is home for the weekend and Mommy didn't have to work today because of the snow, so we had a lazy, fun day at home...and we got to play in the snow!
